Description

Alkaline Ion Water Purifier Filter Cartridge, 1 Pack

A single replacement filter cartridge engineered for countertop or under‑sink water ionisers that produce alkaline ionised water. The cartridge contains multiple media layers: a sediment pre‑filter, activated carbon for chlorine and organic compound reduction, an ion exchange section for heavy metal control, and a mineral‑ceramic post‑filter that releases a measured quantity of alkaline minerals such as calcium, magnesium and potassium. The finished water exhibits a slightly elevated pH, typically in the range of 7.5 to 9.5, depending on source water chemistry and flow rate. The cartridge is not a medical device and makes no claims to alter body chemistry; it simply modifies the ionic character of drinking water for those who prefer a less acidic taste profile.

Filtration and Mineral Addition
The carbon block and ion exchange stages first strip out chlorine, lead, mercury and a selection of volatile organic contaminants. After this purification phase, the water contacts the mineral‑ceramic bed, which slowly dissolves a trace of alkaline earth minerals. This can lend the water a smoother, silkier mouthfeel and may reduce the metallic sharpness often present in soft, low‑pH tap water. The cartridge does not add sodium bicarbonate or synthetic chemicals; the pH shift arises naturally from the dissolution of mineral oxides and carbonates.

Installation and Conditioning
The cartridge is typically housed in a bayonet‑fit or screw‑on canister on the ioniser unit. Before use, it must be flushed according to the ioniser manufacturer’s instructions, which usually involves running several litres of cold water through the cartridge to activate the carbon and clear any mineral fines. After conditioning, it functions inline and processes water on demand. No additional tools or electrical connections are needed beyond the ioniser itself.

Replacement Timing
A single cartridge can treat roughly 3,000 to 6,000 litres of water, depending on input quality and pH settings. At a household consumption of three to four litres per day, this translates to a service life of two to five years, though most manufacturers recommend replacement at least annually to prevent any risk of microbial growth within a wet filter environment. A noticeable drop in output pH, a slower flow rate or an earthy aftertaste can indicate that the mineral bed is nearing exhaustion.

Storage and Safety
The cartridge should be stored sealed and dry before use. After installation, it must be kept wet; if the system is left unused for several weeks, the cartridge should be replaced. Spent cartridges are non‑hazardous and can be placed in general waste. This product is designed solely for treatment of potable municipal water and does not convert non‑potable water into drinking water. No therapeutic or medical benefit is claimed.
